About

The Zion Wright Family Ranch spreads across vast acreage where cattle roam freely and campfires dot the landscape under star-filled skies. This working ranch offers true dispersed camping (first-come, first-served) where you can claim your own piece of wilderness among fire rings scattered across the property. No hookups, no amenities beyond porta-potties. Just you, the open range, and views that stretch for miles.

The real draw here is the horseback riding. Bill and Evelyn Wright lead trail rides through hidden spots most visitors never see, winding through canyons and up to viewpoints that showcase the area's raw beauty. The horses are gentle and well-trained, perfect whether you're a seasoned rider or complete beginner. Mr. Wright himself often guides rides, sharing stories about the land his family has worked for generations.

Located in Virgin, the ranch sits about 20 minutes from Zion's main entrance but feels worlds away from the crowds. The road in requires some attention (high-clearance vehicles recommended), but guests have made it in everything from Mazdas to RVs. Expect cattle with cowbells wandering through camp at night, their gentle chiming mixing with the desert silence.

This isn't glamping or a resort experience. It's authentic ranch life where families can spread out, kids can explore safely, and everyone gets a taste of the Old West. Perfect for those seeking solitude and adventure beyond the typical Zion experience.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! There is free BLM land just minutes down the road. Granted it does not have a port a potty, but you can also go to the bathroom at the South fork trail head for free. That is TRUE dispersed camping. It is worth noting that the BLM access roads closest the the Ranch and blocked off with boulders. After calling the BLM office, they confirmed it is okay to camp here, but someone keeps on replacing the boulders, sometimes trapping campers in. They didn't say who, but from what I read online and can surmise, the person who is doing this starts with Z and ends in ion Wright Family Ranch.

Planned to stay 4 nights. Only needed 3. Have been contacting about a refund for a whole month through email and both numbers listed on the website. They have not responded once. I am low on money and could really use the night refund I did not stay, but I can't even get a response. There's plenty of dispersed sleeping locations near Zion, starting to wish I didn't even book here.

absolutely loved staying on this ranch land. Beautiful views, see cows, and plenty of space. We went memorial weekend and there was PLENTY of space still. Can’t recommend it enough!

Lovely accommodation! Great views and quiet. Open field little to no trees but spots are spaced out generously.
