About

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort sprawls across 4,000 acres of private wilderness on the eastern boundary of Zion National Park. This expansive property offers everything from cozy cabins and covered wagons to full vacation homes, creating a basecamp for families and adventure seekers exploring the park's less-traveled east side. The resort's unique location provides direct access to hiking trails and viewpoints that most Zion visitors never experience.

The accommodations range widely to suit different travel styles and budgets. Families might choose a multi-bedroom vacation rental with full kitchens and living spaces, while couples seeking simplicity can opt for rustic cabins or even covered wagons for a taste of pioneer life. The property also welcomes RVs and tent campers, making it one of the most versatile lodging options near Zion. Each accommodation type provides access to the resort's extensive activity offerings and facilities.

What sets Zion Ponderosa apart is its adventure programming. The resort operates its own climbing wall, zip lines, and ropes courses, along with guided activities like canyoneering, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Families particularly appreciate the swimming pool, tennis courts, and organized activities that keep children engaged between park excursions. The on-site restaurant and general store add convenience for guests staying multiple nights.

Located in Orderville, about 15 miles from Zion's main entrance, the resort offers a different perspective on the park. Guests here explore the quieter east side trails and can easily visit nearby attractions like Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and the scenic backroads leading to Bryce Canyon. This location makes it an ideal base for travelers wanting to experience multiple parks while enjoying resort amenities and guided adventures each evening.

The glamping tent was fun, though I do wish it were a bit more private. Definitely not worth the price though. But the bed and pillows are comfy. The couch in the tent we were in needs to be replaced. The views and amenities were nice. Food was good. Bathroom not clean at all. Someone from our group found a used condom in the shower she used on our 1st night. Great proximity to Zion.

So many great things to say about this ranch resort, definitely a prime location to stay for visiting the Zion area with kids. They have tent camping, covered wagons, RV camping, different size cabins and full size houses with various sizes to fit smaller and larger parties. The entire crew were so nice and welcoming, many of them travel to work there from different states so there is a fun diversity of people along with the wonderful locals. The wide range of acrivies is really what sold us. Our two young Daughters did great exploring Zion and the surrounding area but there is nothing like a fun swimming pool, put-put golf, pond to kayak on, marshmallow roasting , etc., etc. They loves the easy option horseback ride, the upstairs game room and all the beautiful nature. The food options are versatile and yummy all around, breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, they have it all! Even fancy latte's! I am a huge cookie nut and their variety of homemade cookies were sooooooo good! The proximity to Zion is great, and there are many other trials to explore and adventures to have. Highly recommend checking it out!

Love this place, we stayed I. Family tent, it had everything. Very nice view of the mountains and able to see so many starts at night.

RV spot was close to other RVs with no trees nor fire ring on uneven ground so that is disappointing. Also, 4 pm check-in time is absurdly late, with an absurd 10 am checkout. What do they need 6 hours to do to a gravel parking spot? Plus it's too little time to enjoy the amenities. They don't make it clear whether to drive to office to check in or drive straight to campground (which is hard to find anyway with no good sign) and it's unclear whether to follow signs for tent camping if you are in RV. It's silly to say mini golf is $5 but then there is tax added. Just give the price including tax. Mini golf needs character added -it's very plain. The shuttles to the hike are helpful indeed, and the staff are great. Just a few tweaks and it could get 5 stars.

One of the best vacations ever! Staff was super friendly & attentive. The four-wheeling was a blast, fire pit at night, loved horseback riding in Zions! The ranch is fantastic & being right on the boarder of Zions National Park, was amazing! So much to do here! The views are breathtaking with photo opportunities all over. Also affordable. Highly recommend!
