Family-run bed and breakfast with antique furnishings, native art, and hosts who share local stories over homemade breakfast.
Russell and Laurel have turned their home into something special. The rooms are filled with antiques and native art that tell stories of the Southwest, creating spaces that feel both collected and curated. You'll wake up to breakfast made from scratch, served alongside conversation with hosts who genuinely care about your experience.
Russell works as a park ranger at Grand Staircase-Escalante, so you're getting insider knowledge with your morning coffee. He and Laurel know which trails are worth your time, where to catch the best light for photos, and how to make the most of your southern Utah adventure. The kind of local intelligence you can't Google.
The house itself radiates calm. Dogs roam the property (yours are welcome too), and there's a tranquil quality that guests consistently mention. It's the sort of place where you actually look forward to returning each evening, not just crashing before the next day's hike.
Kanab puts you within striking distance of Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon North Rim, and the slot canyons of Grand Staircase-Escalante. Having knowledgeable hosts who've explored all of these places makes Savage Point more than just a place to sleep. You're staying with people who understand why you came to southern Utah in the first place.

I adored this B&B. I am saddened to hear I am one of the last to stay here before closing their doors. Laurel is very sweet, helpful, always eager to answer questions. We had several conversations. I really enjoying her company. I love the two doggies and kitty. Great location, quiet, safe. I had the downstairs all to myself with a wood burning stove and separate entrance. It is spacious and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable, quiet at night, and the rain shower was an added touch. Breakfast was served upstairs and was very good with Laurels homemade jams and canned peaches. I am grateful to have met Laurel and the fur babies of Savage Point on my hiking journey through Utah. Tropic is a cute town with some good restaurants. Great location to many parks, hikes, and attractions.

A wonderful discovery! We were warmly and generously welcomed by the owners. Their house is very pleasant, and they prepared a delicious and generous breakfast for us. A lovely, family-run little stopover that was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city's hotels, all of which were fully booked that evening.
