About

Step into 1884 at this charming Victorian bed and breakfast where antiques, collectibles, and period details transport you to another era. Each room tells a story through carefully curated furnishings and vintage touches that create an atmosphere of nostalgic elegance. The historic home maintains its original character while offering modern comfort for a truly unique stay.

Kathy, your gracious host, treats every guest like family. Her homemade breakfasts are legendary (ask for the baked French toast), and her fresh fruit platters showcase local flavors. She's also your best resource for area recommendations and local history. The welcoming extends from the moment you arrive with cool lemonade on hot days to the genuine care that makes you feel completely at home.

The inn holds special significance for literature lovers as the place where Zane Grey stayed while writing "Riders of the Purple Sage." This connection to the Old West adds another layer to the already rich atmosphere. The beautifully maintained gardens and peaceful porch provide perfect spots to unwind after exploring southern Utah's red rock country.

Located in Kanab, you're perfectly positioned for adventures to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon's North Rim. But many guests find themselves content to simply relax in this adults-only retreat, savoring the slower pace and timeless charm that make the Purple Sage Inn feel like a true discovery.

If we could, we'd give it a 6, not just a 5! A warm welcome from Kathy. The best breakfast of our entire trip to the United States, including an excellent plate of fresh fruit. The whole house is beautifully decorated in the style of the early 20th century, when it was the setting for the writing of the famous novel Riders of the Purple Sage. Very comfortable rooms. Lovely garden. The whole village, called Little Hollywood, is easily accessible on foot. And there are so many wonderful things to discover in the surrounding area, especially thanks to Kathy's suggestions! Thank you, Kathy and Tory

What a wonderful stay! Our room was huge and very comfortable. Kathy is an amazing host and a font of knowledge about the area. Her fruit platter at breakfast is fantastic. Be sure to ask for the baked French toast. For history buffs, this is where Zane Grey stayed when he wrote Riders of the Purple Sage.
