About

Hi-Road Basecamp sits right on Highway 9 in Mount Carmel, the road that climbs to Zion National Park's quieter East Entrance. That position makes it a practical staging point for the park's scenic east side, with the famous Mount Carmel Tunnel and Canyon Overlook trailhead a short drive west. The property keeps things simple and flexible for travelers heading into red rock country.

Lodging covers three styles to fit any trip. New, compact cabins offer an indoor option with a clean, minimalist feel. RV sites come with full hookups, and there are tent sites for those who want to pitch and unzip under southern Utah's dark skies at roughly 5,400 feet of elevation.

An on-site camp store stocks supplies, snacks, and souvenirs, so you can grab what you forgot without backtracking to town. The cafe handles meals and treats, turning out pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream after a long day on the trails. Clean restrooms and showers round out the basics for a comfortable overnight.

The location also works well for a wider loop, with Bryce Canyon, Kanab, and Grand Staircase-Escalante all within reach. You will find Hi-Road Basecamp east of the park near the junction with US-89, a handy base if you want to enter Zion from the less crowded eastern side and skip the busy Springdale gateway.
