About

Crazy Horse RV Resort sits on the outskirts of Kanab, making it an ideal base for exploring southern Utah's major parks. You're close enough to town for restaurants and shops, but far enough out to feel like you're actually in the landscape.

Hookups and Amenities

The resort caters to families and travelers with RV rigs, offering both 30-amp and 50-amp hookups, propane on site, and a small store stocked with camping essentials. That store comes in handy when you realize you forgot something mid-trip.

The amenities keep families occupied between adventures. There's a swimming pool for afternoon cooling off, a playground for kids, and a pickleball court that doubles as workout space. Bathrooms are clean and well-maintained.

Setting and Atmosphere

The scenery surrounding the property is genuinely beautiful, with red rock views that remind you why you came to this corner of Utah in the first place. Reviewers consistently praise the staff and the overall vibe. That matters when you're parking your home on wheels for several nights.

Location for Day Trips

From Kanab, you're positioned well for day trips to:

  • Zion (about 40 minutes south)

  • Bryce Canyon (about an hour east)

  • Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

The location also puts you near some solid off-road trails and local festivals like the Balloons and Tunes event in February. Hot air balloons launch practically from the campground's doorstep. It's the kind of place that works whether you're using it as a jumping-off point for park exploration or settling in for a few days to enjoy Kanab's quieter pace.

Accessibility and Year-Round Operation

The resort is wheelchair accessible, and the family-friendly setup means you won't feel out of place bringing kids or dogs along. Sites are gravel. The park operates year-round, giving you flexibility for whatever season works best for your trip.

22 June 2024. DO NOT STAY HERE... Please Read Completely. Powersurge burned up our Watchdog Gen 2 50 amp surge protector. I received a return reading of E9 - Surge Protection Used Up; subsequent E2 - Line 2 Voltage Error. Basically, the power pedestal or grid within the park is faulty. I immediately notified the park "management," to which a faux electrician came to our site and tested it with his meter. "It's at the right voltage" was the response, meaning he paid no attention to the error codes I relayed for his understanding. At the time of this review, an electrician is on site but it's 100 degrees out and noone has shore power. Needless to say, there was no attempt at any level of compensation, assistance, or a murmur above "Yeah... that sucks" given. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR RV & TIME. NOTE: This review was written under a pen name but I have receipts.

This was a quiet RV park very clean. They had a beautiful pool, really clean shower bathroom area, a very clean dog park for your dog and great views. They have wagons that you can rent or you can sleep in their yurt or bring your own RV. The staff is very friendly. It was very close to some amazing sand caves too!

**ADDENDUM** June 15,2026 - Received a call on June 8th from the office stating that our clothes were left in a box outside the office and they stated the clothes were taken by accident (?) and the box was shipped to us and contained all the clothes from the batch of laundry that went missing. I appreciated them contacting me and sending our belongings back to us and because of that I have updated the rating. ********************************* Previous review: We expected a great experience at this campground, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. There appeared to be a homeless woman staying in a tent near our site. She ate breakfast in the bathroom and was dropped off by police one night around 10:30 p.m. Whatever her situation was, paying guests shouldn’t have to deal with that while on vacation. The laundry room was even worse. For a campground this size, having only six washers and dryers is ridiculous. People would leave their laundry sitting for hours. I checked five different times before I could finally start one load at 9:30 p.m., and the same clothes were still in the washers four hours later. Only one dryer was available, so I moved my clothes into it and started another wash load. By then it was 10:30 p.m., and I didn’t feel safe walking back and forth that late, so I planned to return first thing in the morning. The laundry room requires a code for entry, and signs throughout the campground claim there are security cameras everywhere. Despite that, someone stole my husband’s and my clean clothes overnight. As Harley riders, our clothing is expensive. When I reported the theft, the office was no help. They said the cameras weren’t working and that we shouldn’t have left our clothes overnight. There was no apology, no effort to investigate, and no concern—just “sorry, nothing we can do.” Based on our experience, I would not recommend this campground.

We stayed 4 nights with a 30" travel trailer to see the area. We did not use the pool, but it looked wonderful (very crowded on a hot day). Laundry facility is nice with 5 washer and 6 dryers. Utilities at our site were conveniently located and worked as expected. Sites 25-31 are really close together. We were in 31 and wished we had chosen a back in space as they had a lot more room. If you prefer more space, I would call as you can't tell by the map. Confirmation email mentions watering the grass. Grass has been replaced by Astroturf. Dog wash was handy for our Corgi. Her white parts were orange from sand and dust. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Had a great stay at Crazy Horse RV Lot in Kanab. The property was clean, quiet, and well kept, with plenty of space and an awesome location close to everything in town and the surrounding trails. The owners were friendly and easy to work with, which made the whole stay even better. Perfect spot whether you’re just passing through or staying a few days to explore southern Utah. Definitely would stay here again!
