Wynopits Mountain

Wynopits Mountain is a roughly 6,900-foot summit deep in Zion's backcountry, high above the main canyon and far from any road. It's one of the park's more obscure peaks — the kind of place that sees a handful of parties in a good year, all of them experienced off-trail hikers willing to bushwhack through dense brush to reach the top.

There's no maintained trail here and no easy approach; accounts that do exist describe it as a demanding, unglamorous scramble rather than the kind of scenic slickrock walking Zion is known for. It sits in the same remote plateau country as the park's other seldom-visited summits, well removed from Zion Canyon's crowds and shuttle stops. This is a destination for serious peakbaggers with route-finding experience and proper gear, not a casual add-on to a canyon visit.
