About
Timber Creek Overlook Trailhead sits at the very end of Kolob Canyons Road, in Zion's separate Kolob Canyons district off I-15 exit 40, about five miles past the visitor center. The short, well-maintained trail climbs roughly 100 feet over 0.6 miles along a ridge to a viewpoint looking back over the Kolob Canyons' finger canyons, the Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains.
Good to know
- Restrooms and picnic tables are available at the trailhead, with a second small picnic area about 100 yards away.
- On clear days the view extends to Mt. Trumbull, roughly 100 miles south near the Grand Canyon's north rim.
- Spring and early summer bring a strong wildflower display along the ridge.
- Kolob Canyons is accessed from I-15, not from the main south entrance near Springdale, so plan the drive as a separate visit.
