Third Mary
One of three sandstone towers watching over Springdale.
About
Third Mary is one of the Three Marys, a trio of sandstone pillars in Zion National Park's Towers of the Virgin group, just northwest of Springdale and about 1.5 miles west of the park's headquarters. The three towers range from roughly 6,020 to 6,420 feet in elevation and form a recognizable part of the skyline visitors see near the south entrance.
These are climbing objectives, not a hiking trail — there's no maintained path to any of the summits, and reaching the towers means technical rock climbing on exposed sandstone. The Three Marys draw climbers visiting the park, but casual hikers should treat them as a feature to view from below rather than a destination to summit.
