Stair Master Trail
The climb that earns the descent in the East Zion bike network.
About
Stair Master is a climbing segment in the Applecross network, the purpose-built mountain-bike trail system that has grown to roughly 35 miles east of Zion National Park's East Entrance, off North Fork County Road in Orderville. It's the more challenging alternative on a connector route that links Techy Blue into Elliptical, gaining around 400 feet over roughly 1.8 miles of climbing. The trails sit on private land donated by the Zion Mountain Ranch/Clear Creek Ranch ownership as part of the East Zion Initiative, built out with the Zion National Park Forever Project and Utah's Division of Outdoor Recreation, and are open to the public as part of the broader Greater Zion trail system rather than kept exclusive. This is bike-specific terrain, not a maintained foot trail — riders should expect a real climb, not a flat cruise, and hikers should be alert for fast-moving bike traffic on the connecting descents nearby.
