Shuntavi Butte

Shuntavi Butte is a bullet-shaped sandstone spire in Zion's Kolob Canyons district, part of an 8,000-foot ridgeline that also includes Horse Ranch Mountain — the park's highest point — along with Paria Point, Beatty Point, Nagunt Mesa, and Timber Top Mountain. You don't hike to it directly; it's the view, not the destination.

The best place to see it is the Timber Creek Overlook Trail, a short one-mile out-and-back walk with minimal elevation gain that follows a rocky ridge to a viewpoint over Timber Creek, the Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains beyond. It's accessed from Kolob Canyons Road off I-15, a separate entrance from the main south entrance near Springdale, roughly 40 miles north of Zion Canyon.
