Red Arch Mountain

Red Arch Mountain rises immediately northeast of Zion Lodge, a 5,930-foot Navajo sandstone summit that towers roughly 1,700 feet above the canyon floor. It takes its name from a large blind arch carved into its face — one of only two named blind arches in the park, along with the Great Arch near the east entrance. This is a landmark to look up at from the Zion Lodge shuttle stop, not a maintained hiking trail to its summit.

• Home to Shune's Buttress, a well-known technical rock climb
• Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to view or climb it

Zion Lodge sits on the park shuttle route, which runs most of the year in place of private vehicle access to the main canyon — check current shuttle status before your visit.
