Pa'rus Trail

The Pa'rus Trail is Zion Canyon's one paved, multi-use path, running about 1.75 miles each way along the Virgin River between the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and Canyon Junction — roughly 3.5 miles round trip. It's flat, wheelchair accessible, and the only trail in the park open to bikes and leashed dogs — a rarity in a park where pets are otherwise restricted from nearly every trail. An unpaved spur about halfway along connects to the Human History Museum.

Good to know

• The only Zion trail that permits dogs on leash and bicycles
• Fully paved except for a short stretch of boardwalk; suitable for strollers and wheelchairs
• Starts at shuttle stop 1 (Visitor Center) or stop 3 (Canyon Junction) — easy to link with a shuttle ride back
• Deer and other wildlife are commonly seen in the riverside meadows along the way
