Northgate Peaks

Northgate Peaks Trail sits high on Zion National Park's Kolob Terrace, reached from the Wildcat Canyon Trailhead about 15 miles up the paved Kolob Terrace Road northwest of Springdale. The route runs flat and easy for roughly two miles through open ponderosa pine forest before breaking out at a saddle between the two Northgate Peaks, with views across Zion's backcountry canyons and distant park peaks.

Good to know

• Sits near 7,000 feet in the Zion Wilderness, noticeably cooler than the main canyon floor
• Pit toilets at the trailhead, but no water source on the trail
• Closed by snow roughly November through April; best hiked spring through fall
• Dogs are not permitted
