Mount Moroni

Mount Moroni is a sandstone summit at the Court of the Patriarchs, immediately southwest of Zion Lodge, rising about 1,400 feet above the lodge and the canyon floor. It sits alongside the North Fork of the Virgin River among neighbors that include The Sentinel, Mountain of the Sun, and the Three Patriarchs — Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Sand Bench Trail runs along the base of the formation between the Court of the Patriarchs and Zion Lodge.

• At 5,690 feet, the summit itself is climbing terrain with established technical routes, not a hiking destination
• Sand Bench Trail, which passes below, allows horses and is popular with guided trail rides
