Mary Bonner Nature Trail

Also signed as "Mary Bonner" in places, the Marj Bonner nature area sits inside George A. Barker River Park in Springdale, reached by a footbridge across the Virgin River from the park's main lawn. It's a short, easy walking area along the riverbank rather than a formal backcountry trail — flat ground, cottonwood shade in places, and open river access on the edge of town, a few minutes' walk from Zion's south entrance.

Good to know

• Doubles as Springdale's off-leash dog area; dogs must stay under voice control since it isn't fenced
• Watch for rattlesnakes along the riverbank in summer
• The main park includes restrooms, picnic tables, and grills
