Magic Carpet Trail

Magic Carpet is part of a newer trail network taking shape in East Zion, along Highway 9 between the park's east entrance and Mount Carmel Junction. Trail builders have been developing slickrock and singletrack riding here in recent years, extending the mountain biking scene that's long centered on Hurricane and Gooseberry Mesa to the west. Recent trail-condition reports describe it as maintained and rideable.

What to know

• Located in the East Zion corridor near Orderville and Glendale, outside the park boundary itself
• Part of a still-developing network — expect fewer services and less signage than at established trailheads
• Best checked against current trail condition reports before heading out
