About

Long Point sits in the high country along Kolob Terrace Road, in the stretch between Lava Point and Kolob Reservoir where the road passes landmarks like Firepit Knoll and Spendlove Knoll on its way onto the Kolob Plateau. It isn't a developed or well-documented destination — there's no trailhead signage or established route description in the usual hiking guides.

What's confirmed about this part of Zion: Kolob Terrace Road is paved all the way to Kolob Reservoir at just over 8,000 feet, the least-traveled of the park's main roads, and a very different environment from the desert floor of Zion Canyon — pine and aspen country rather than sandstone narrows. Anyone exploring off-road here should treat it as unmarked backcountry and come prepared with a map, since this reflects a point on that terrain rather than a maintained hike.
