Lambs Knoll

Lambs Knoll is a sandstone crag up Kolob Terrace Road, about 10 miles north of Virgin and roughly 30 minutes from Springdale and Zion's west entrance. It sits right at the edge of Zion National Park but is managed by the Bureau of Land Management rather than the park itself, so don't expect NPS signage, fees, or shuttle access here.

What it's used for

• Rock climbing, with more than 25 established routes across a range of difficulty
• Canyoneering and rappelling objectives for those working with a local guide service
• A developed trailhead with an improved access road, day-use picnic area, and restroom
• Eight walk-in tent campsites at the trailhead, first-come, first-served

There's no fee to hike or access the area, and spring through fall is the reliable window — Kolob Terrace Road can be affected by snow outside that stretch. This is a destination for climbers and canyoneers more than casual hikers, so come with the right gear and know-how, or book a guide out of the Springdale/Virgin area.
