Ivins Mountain

Despite the name, Ivins Mountain has nothing to do with the town of Ivins near St. George — this is a 7,019-foot Navajo sandstone summit inside Zion National Park itself, about 7.5 miles north of Springdale in the backcountry near the Guardian Angels. It was officially named in 1935 for Anthony W. Ivins, a 19th-century southern Utah pioneer, and it sits in genuinely remote terrain, with Inclined Temple as its nearest higher neighbor and South Guardian Angel about three miles to the west.

This is backcountry peakbagging territory, not a maintained-trail hike — reaching it requires off-trail travel through Zion's high desert terrain, with real elevation gain and route-finding involved. There's no facility or signage at the base; anyone attempting it should be comfortable navigating unmarked sandstone country and carry a wilderness permit if camping overnight.
