Human History Museum Trail

The Human History Museum sits a half mile inside Zion's south entrance, connected to the Pa'rus Trail by a short unpaved spur. Housed in one of the park's original Mission 66 buildings, it holds a rotating collection of artifacts covering the human story of Zion Canyon, from the Southern Paiute people to the Mormon settlers who arrived in the 1800s. A 22-minute introductory film plays on the half hour, and rangers give occasional talks.

Good to know

• Open 10am–5pm spring and fall, 9am–7pm in summer; closed November through early March. Admission is free
• Reachable by shuttle (stop 2) or on foot via the Pa'rus Trail connector
• A good first stop for context before hiking into the canyon
