About

The Grotto is shuttle stop 6 on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive route and one of the busiest trailheads in the park, the starting point for the West Rim Trail (and its Angels Landing extension), the Kayenta Trail toward Emerald Pools, and the short, flat Grotto Trail back to Zion Lodge. Restrooms, picnic tables, bike racks, and a water bottle filling station make it a natural staging point for hikers heading up the canyon wall or crossing over to the Lodge.

At this stop

  • Trailhead for West Rim Trail / Angels Landing (permit required beyond Scout Lookout)
  • Connects to Kayenta Trail and the Emerald Pools
