Day Hike
Grapevine Trailhead
A rugged lava-cliff drop to the Left Fork
(0)
About
Grapevine Trailhead sits 7.3 miles up Kolob Terrace Road, between the Left Fork and Right Fork trailheads. The route itself is short but rough: a steep, rocky drop of around 350 feet down an old lava flow to reach the Left Fork of North Creek, roughly a mile and a half downstream of where the Subway route meets the water. It's a scramble more than a stroll — faint in places, with loose rock underfoot, and not a good choice for young kids or anyone unsteady on steep terrain.
Good to know
- Access is via Kolob Terrace Road, not the park shuttle — a private vehicle is required
- Most used March through October; lightly trafficked compared to the main canyon trails
- Connects to the Left Fork of North Creek, downstream of the Subway
