Goose Creek Knoll

Goose Creek Knoll is a rise in Zion National Park's Kolob Terrace district, reached by an easy trail of under two miles. It sits in the high, forested plateau north of the main canyon, with views down toward Kolob Creek to the north and east and Goose Creek to the south — a different landscape entirely from the desert floor most Zion visitors see.

Good to know

• Access is via Kolob Terrace Road, which climbs from the town of Virgin up onto the plateau
• Elevation here is considerably higher and cooler than Zion Canyon, with fir and aspen replacing desert scrub
• Facilities are minimal to none — treat this as backcountry, not a developed trailhead

It's a comparatively gentle outing for the Kolob Terrace area, worth combining with a broader drive along Kolob Terrace Road rather than visiting on its own.
