About

This is Zion National Park's south entrance, the main gateway most visitors use, sitting right at the edge of Springdale next to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. It's where nearly everyone entering from the south passes through an entrance station before continuing into the park.

The visitor center here has an information desk, wilderness permit office, bookstore, restrooms, and a water bottle filling station, and it's also the first stop on the Zion Canyon shuttle route, which most visitors need to reach the main canyon during shuttle season (roughly March through late November). Expect real congestion at this entrance during summer and holiday weekends — long entrance-station lines, packed parking in Springdale, and waits to board the shuttle are normal at peak times, so plan to arrive early in the day.
