Englestead Hollow Trailhead

Englestead Hollow is the access route for a technical canyoneering descent into Orderville Canyon, not a hiking trail. It begins just outside Zion's boundary off North Fork Road, past the Zion Ponderosa Resort turnoff, and drops through roughly 700 feet of rappelling and narrow downclimbing before reaching Orderville Canyon just inside the park.

Who this is for

• This route is for experienced canyoneers with rappelling and rope-handling skills, not casual hikers. The dramatic opening drop alone runs about 300 feet.
• The lower canyon lies within National Park Service boundaries, so a permit is required for that portion of the descent.
• Approach from the unmarked trailhead takes roughly 45 minutes on foot before the technical descent begins.
