Court of the Patriarchs

Court of the Patriarchs is the short, paved viewpoint trail on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive where visitors get their classic look at the Three Patriarchs, the trio of named sandstone peaks across the canyon. It's barely a walk, a few minutes up a steep but paved path from the parking area, reachable from the shuttle stop of the same name during the season when the road is shuttle-only.

Good to know

• The overlook sits in full sun with no shade, and dogs are not permitted on the trail.
• It's short enough to suit almost anyone, including young kids.
• For a longer walk with similar views from a different angle, the Sand Bench Trail starts across the road, a moderately strenuous 3.5-mile loop.
