About
Bison Chute is a downhill-only mountain bike trail in the Applecross network on the east side of Zion, reached from North Fork Road about a mile outside the park's east boundary off Highway 9. It's a black-diamond singletrack built with berms, drops, jumps, and rock gardens for experienced riders, and it links into the Lunar Ride line for a longer descent.
Good to know
- Built on private ranch land (Zion Mountain Ranch and Clear Creek Ranch) but open to the public as part of the Greater Zion trail system
- Riding season runs roughly mid-May through October at this 6,000–6,800 ft elevation range
- This is a bike trail, not a hiking route — expect fast-moving downhill riders
