Archaeology Trail

The Archaeology Trail is a short climb from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center up to a hilltop where Ancestral Puebloan people built a food storage structure roughly a thousand years ago, between AD 700 and 950. The out-and-back route covers roughly 0.4 miles and gains just enough elevation to reach a viewpoint over the visitor center and lower canyon, with trailside exhibits explaining what remains of the foundations. It's an easy add-on for anyone parked at the visitor center rather than a standalone destination, and it's open year-round.
