World-class desert golf with complimentary caddie service and all-inclusive amenities
Black Desert Golf Course stands at the top of desert golf. It offers an amazing experience that goes far beyond a typical round. Tom Weiskopf designed this championship course. It winds through dramatic red rock formations and black lava fields. As a result, it creates a stunning backdrop that makes every hole feel like a work of art. The course challenges players with well-crafted holes. However, it remains playable for golfers of all skill levels.
What truly sets Black Desert apart is its all-inclusive approach to hospitality. Green fees include not just golf but a complete experience:
Free food and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day
Access to an excellent practice facility with TrackMan technology
A caddie assigned to each group
The practice areas include a beautiful driving range, dedicated chipping area, and large putting surface. Therefore, players can warm up or work on their game after the round.
The attention to detail extends from the perfect course conditions to the warm hospitality of the staff. Many visitors describe it as one of their best golf experiences ever. For example, they praise everything from the bag drop service and shuttle system to the quality of the included food. The course has also proven itself as a premier tournament venue. In fact, it hosts competitive events with the same level of excellence.
Black Desert sits in Ivins, about 15 minutes northwest of St. George. Therefore, it serves as an ideal addition to a southern Utah golf trip. The area offers several other excellent courses, making it a true golf destination. For travelers who combine outdoor adventures with golf, the course provides a luxurious contrast to hiking in nearby Snow Canyon State Park. Additionally, you can make the hour drive to Zion National Park.

Great golf experience - it's a premium price but also premium experience. The visual eye candy is ridiculous. The driving range with Trackman is super nice. The course itself seems to reward accuracy more than distance. It's not an easy country club "bash & dash" set up designed to make everyone feel like a rockstar - but my group included 12-18 handicappers, and all had fun - just need to think a bit around the track with plenty of pars and even birdies opportunities from mixed tees. Huge pro shop, not sure I've seen any bigger, I imagine would have anything you'd need. The staff is a bit snobbish, feels a little self-important. Because it's so huge I asked for some assistance in finding a few items, and I was basically told to just "look around, will find it". I'm lucky to play premium private and public courses all over the country including Pebble, Pine, Shadow - BD staff could probably do with some training. Chose not to spend any money at pro shop. Perks include all food and soda on course as part of green fees. I would recommend making it easier to tip electronically. The food and beverage selection is reasonably good. Friendly and accommodating staff.
