Wildcat Spring

Wildcat Spring is a reliable water source along the Wildcat Canyon Trail in Zion National Park's Kolob Terrace district, about 3.9 miles in from the Wildcat Canyon Trailhead as the trail descends into the canyon. It's well marked and typically flows year-round, making it one of the more dependable springs on this side of the park. The trail it sits on connects the Kolob Terrace Road corridor to the West Rim Trail near Lava Point, part of the longer Trans-Zion backpacking route.

Good to know

• Reach the trailhead via Kolob Terrace Road, an unpaved drive of roughly 15 miles from the town of Virgin
• This is a spring along a longer trail, not a standalone hike — most visitors pass it while hiking or backpacking Wildcat Canyon or the Trans-Zion route
• Kolob Terrace sits at higher elevation than Zion Canyon, so conditions and snowpack differ from the main canyon; late May through early October is the typical hiking window
• As with any backcountry water source, treat or filter before drinking
