Water Canyon Winery sits right in Springdale, making it an easy stop between your hikes and your hotel. The tasting room itself is polished and inviting, with staff who actually know their wines and enjoy talking about them. You'll taste through their lineup in a space that feels both refined and relaxed, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.

The Wines and the Owner

The wines are made on-site, and the owner is often there pouring. He's genuinely passionate about what he's making, and that comes through in conversation. The Petite Syrah gets particular love from repeat visitors, though the whole selection is solid and reasonably priced for the quality you're getting. It's the kind of place where you come in for a quick glass and end up staying longer because the conversation is good and the wine tastes better than you expected.

Why It's Worth Your Time

If you're staying in one of the condos upstairs, you've basically got a wine bar on your doorstep, which is a nice way to end a day in the canyon. Even if you're not staying there, it's worth the detour on your way through town. Bring a friend, try a flight, and let the staff point you toward something you'll actually want to bring home.

The Water Canyon Winery was an excellent find in small town of Springdale on the doorstep of Zion NP! My wife and I came across it as we were walking around town. We were immediately warmly greeted by “Emma” who showed us the available wine flights for tasting. We ordered two different flights, essentially tasting all the wines. We were not disappointed! When serving the “Unoaked”, Emma encouraging us to taste the wine as is. She then handed us each a tiny block of oak which we dropped into the glass and waited two minutes. Woila; the wine was completely transformed! That was just too cool (and fun)! We ended going back a second time after a long day of hiking, a wonderfully refreshing end to the day. Very relaxing “vibe” and wonderful staff, Emma was so kind! Highly recommend stopping in after walking around town or after hiking in Zion!

My husband and I spent three afternoons at the winery. The wine is wonderful and the natural production leads to far fewer reactions than normal. We loved talking with Emma, Cheyenne, and Rachel! We highly recommend a stop for anyone in the area!

If you are in Springdale this is a must visit place! Wine was fabulous, ambiance was lovely and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Charcuterie was also fantastic. Can not recommend enough. Want to pick up this place and take it home so I could visit all the time.
