Rimrock Spring
An unmarked spring in the slickrock wilderness south of Zion.
About
Rimrock Spring sits in the Canaan Mountain Wilderness, a block of BLM-managed Navajo Sandstone backcountry that borders Zion National Park's southeast boundary near Rockville. Unlike better-known springs in this wilderness area, Rimrock Spring doesn't appear in the established BLM or NPS trail guides for the region, and no maintained route or trailhead is documented for it.
The surrounding Canaan Mountain country is real backcountry: slickrock, slot canyons, and 2,000-foot cliff walls, with water sources that come and go with the season. If you're relying on any spring here, including this one, for drinking water, don't assume it's flowing — check current conditions with the BLM's local field office before you go, and carry a filter and backup supply regardless.
