Grapevine Spring

Grapevine Spring sits at the bottom of a short, steep trail off Kolob Terrace Road, about 7.3 miles north of Virgin between the Left Fork and Right Fork trailheads. The path drops through loose, slippery lava rock to reach the Left Fork of North Creek — expect 30 to 45 minutes down, and longer coming back up.

Older NPS literature sometimes calls this route the Grapevine Trail rather than Grapevine Spring, but either way it leads to the same quiet watering hole in the creek bottom. It's a low-key alternative to the crowds at the nearby Subway and Left Fork trailheads — fewer people, no permit needed for a day hike, and a genuinely secluded stretch of stream.

March through October is the most reliable window; the lava rock footing is unforgiving when wet, so use caution and sturdy shoes.
