About

Water Canyon Winery sits in Hildale, a quiet corner of southern Utah that rewards the drive with genuine hospitality and surprisingly sophisticated food and wine. The owner Shane and his family have created something that feels more like visiting friends than going out to eat.

Wine & Tasting Experience

You'll find natural wines made with minimal intervention, which means each bottle has real character and tells a story about the vineyard itself. The tasting experience is educational without being pretentious, and staff take time to walk you through their winemaking philosophy.

Food & Kitchen

The food here punches well above what you'd expect in a remote location. The kitchen turns out dishes like rigatoni, tenderloin, and crème brûlée that locals describe as some of the best in the region.

Everything leans toward quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation, with a farm-to-table sensibility that matches the winery's ethos. The portions are generous, and the prices stay reasonable for what you're getting. This isn't a quick stop between hikes; it's a destination meal worth planning around.

Atmosphere & Access

The setting is intimate and cozy, with an atmosphere that feels both refined and genuinely welcoming. The space itself is photogenic, which reviewers can't help but mention.

Hildale's location on the Arizona-Utah border means it's a bit of a journey from the main Zion corridor (about 45 minutes from Springdale), but that remoteness is part of what makes it special. Wheelchair accessible entrance. Come hungry, come thirsty, and come ready to spend an evening with people who care about what they're serving.

An excellent and authentic experience at this winery. The view is wonderful, and I highly recommend the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc.

We appreciated the education on natural wines! Enjoyed the tasting and the chat with the tasting room attendant. Very relaxing Sunday afternoon.
