Thunderbird Restaurant
Classic American comfort food with homemade pies and retro diner charm.
About
The Thunderbird brings old-school diner vibes to the quiet town of Orderville with red vinyl booths, vintage decor, and the kind of homemade pies that make road trips worthwhile. This family-run spot has been feeding travelers and locals for decades, and it shows in all the right ways.
The Pies Are the Real Draw
Apple, chocolate cream, and seasonal varieties made fresh daily. People drive over an hour just for breakfast, which tells you something about the French toast and pancakes.
The Menu and Service
The menu covers all the American classics (burgers, steaks, salads) plus a solid salad bar. Nothing fancy, just honest comfort food done right.
Jersey and the crew know how to take care of folks in a hurry, whether you're headed to Bryce Canyon or making the drive back to Vegas. The portions are generous and the coffee keeps coming. It's the kind of place where patience pays off and conversation flows easy.
Location and Timing
Orderville sits perfectly between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, making the Thunderbird a natural pit stop for park-hopping adventures. The town itself is tiny, but this retro gem gives you a reason to slow down and enjoy the small-town rhythm of southern Utah.

Amazing food and service. The power went out about 10 minutes after we got in but they still got our food out in a timely manner and it was amazing. Our waitress Amanda was so sweet the entire time and thanked us multiple times for being patient even though it wasn’t her fault the power went out. Great family place with a great story behind it. Definitely worth the stop if you’re passing through.
