About

This casual spot serves up comfort food favorites in a recently remodeled space that's become a popular stop for hungry hikers.

Food & Drinks

The pizza gets consistent praise, with options ranging from classic pies to creative combinations like the Ponderosa pie on cauliflower crust. The kitchen also turns out solid burgers (including a brisket version that surprises people) and roasted chicken.

You'll find local Wasatch beers on tap alongside wine. The atmosphere stays relaxed whether you're grabbing lunch after a morning hike or settling in for dinner. Live music adds to the vibe on some evenings. The menu covers breakfast through dinner, with milkshakes that make a good post-adventure treat.

Location & When to Visit

Ponderosa Eats sits in tiny Orderville, about 20 minutes from Zion's east entrance via the scenic Highway 9 route. It's one of the few dining options in this part of the region. That makes it a natural stop if you're exploring the less-crowded eastern approach to the park or heading between Zion and Bryce Canyon.

The location works well for refueling after hiking trails like East Mesa. It's also good if you're staying in the area and want a casual dinner without driving back toward Springdale.

The pizza is amazing! We got the Hawaiian on a cauliflower crust. Very cheesy and the pineapple seems fresh and not from the can. Another day we got the burger and it was ok it did the trick but it wasn’t amazing. I recommend you go with the pizza instead. I also wanted to add the specialty coffee is amazing! They also bake all their cookies and cinnamon rolls homemade! And staff were so friendly! We tried the angles landing and a pecan cookie.

Very nice waitstaff but the food came cold and coffee was terrible. I was served old avocado on my toast, and it clearly tasted sour. The waitstaff made it right and said there was a new chef… I have a ServSafe Manager’s Certification and chef should’ve known that shouldn’t have been served in the first place. Waitstaff replaced it with a different option. Coffee was watered down, but they gave me an Americano instead. Overall, nice people, bad food.

Burger and fries were served cold- unappetizing. Fries were small and I feel like I got all the reject fries. Not worth the money I paid for the meal.
