About

Mazatlan Mexican Grill and Seafood brings a broad Mexican and seafood menu to Hurricane, on State Street about 20 minutes from Zion. It's family-owned by Rafael and Onice, the same team behind Puerta Vallarta in Cedar City, and that hands-on ownership shows in the cooking. The kitchen leans hard into seafood, which sets it apart from the usual taco spots.

You'll find a charola de mariscos, aguachiles, shrimp cocktails, and the siete mares soup alongside the expected tacos, enchiladas verdes, and steak fajitas. The molcajetes are the move for a hungry table. The Molcajete Zapata comes loaded with carne asada and chicken, bubbling in a hot stone bowl.

Tableside guacamole and a full margarita list round out the meal. Portions run big and prices stay reasonable, a good combination after a day in the canyons. There's a clearly marked gluten-free menu, vegetarian plates, and a dessert lineup, so most of the table is covered.

The room is casual and family-friendly, with quick, friendly service even when it fills up. You'll find Mazatlan on West State Street in Hurricane, open daily from late morning to late evening. For generous Mexican food and real seafood near Zion, this local favorite is worth the short drive.

I am not the kind of person that leaves reviews, but if you're within an hour of here it is worth visiting. The food is clearly made fresh, to-order, and with great affection. The staff are very eager to serve well and ensure you have a great time. One simply must choose this restaurant over anything close.

Los que vienen de afuera, como yo, vengan a mazatlan. Rafael, el señor que nos atendio, magnifico servicio. El molcajete, delicioso, todos mis chiquillos se comieron toda su comida. Comida como hacia mi abulita. Vengan a probar. Great Mexican authentic food. Rafael, my server was great to my whole family. If your looking for authentic, like your in Mexico, give them a try.

We came to this restaurant looking for one that was conveniently located on our way to Los Angeles, CA, and honestly, the food is delicious. They make the guacamole and salsa in a molcajete right in front of you, the portions are very generous, and the seasoning is amazing. The restaurant is nice, and the restrooms are clean (that's important too). Another important thing is that it was our first time here, and out of the blue, they gave us complimentary fried plantains with sweetened condensed milk and esquites to share. Food and service were 10/10.

We love the food and the service however, BE CAREFUL WITH ADDITIONAL ITEMS ADD TO YOU BILL. ask for an itemize bill before paying. We just have dinner at MAZATLAN and everything was wonderful until we asked for our bill statement and notice am additional charge added to out account, we let our server know and without hesitation they refunded our money. We were happy with the outcome BUT not with the honesty. If you want people to come back to your restaurant be HONEST about services rendered. WE will recommended however we will ward people to check their bill. PLEASE ASKED FOR YOUR ITEMIZED BILL BEFORE PAYING!!!!
