About

The smell of hickory smoke drifts from Giff's before you even walk through the door. This locally owned barbecue spot has earned a reputation for turning out genuinely tender brisket and pulled pork that would make Kansas City proud. The meats come properly smoked with that deep flavor you can't rush.

The sides deserve equal attention. Their loaded potatoes and rich baked beans complement the smoky meats perfectly, while portions stay generous without breaking the bank. The peach cobbler makes for a solid finish if you've got room left. You can grab beer or wine with your meal, and the casual atmosphere works well for families or groups passing through.

Giff's sits right in Kanab's main corridor, making it an easy stop whether you're heading to Zion, Bryce, or the Grand Canyon's North Rim. The restaurant shares space with a trading post, so you can browse souvenirs while you wait. Service stays friendly and unpretentious (the kind of place where they'll chat about the best local hikes if you ask).

It's the type of barbecue joint that locals actually frequent, which tells you something. The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout, plus they welcome dogs if you're traveling with four-legged companions. Cash and cards both work fine.

We stopped by this place after a long day at bryce. The beef brisket was little bit dry. The pork ribs were very tender and juicy though.

Meat was way too dry. You can’t really call it barbecue if the meat is that dry and the semi-sweet options are just sweet period.
