About

El Rancho feels like eating at a friend's house. Lily runs the front while her mom works the kitchen, turning out handmade tamales, mulitas, and pupusas that hit the spot after a long day outdoors. The tamales are the clear standout here (locals know to order them), but the mulitas are generous enough to save half for breakfast the next morning.

The patio offers mountain views and a chance to decompress with chips, fresh guac, and both red and green salsas made in-house. You can taste the care in every dish. This isn't fast food Mexican, it's the kind of place where the owner-chef takes pride in feeding people well.

La Verkin doesn't have tons of dining options, so El Rancho stays busy, especially during peak park season. The family atmosphere and hearty portions make it worth the potential wait. It's about 20 minutes from Zion's main entrance, perfectly positioned for refueling between park adventures or grabbing takeout for your hotel room.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you can start your day with breakfast burritos or end it with a proper Mexican feast. The outdoor seating is the move when weather permits.

Great local restaurant on the way to Zion. Food was made fresh to order and the scenery from the outside tables truly lets you take in the majestic views of the southwest. The tacos were very authentic, and the quesadillas were a crowed pleaser. We recommend trying both big bottles of salsa with some chips - they hit the spot while the rest of the food is being prepared. As they say in Spanish - Que rico!
