About

El Jinete serves up generous portions of Mexican comfort food in a casual, colorful setting that feels like home. The menu runs deep with both authentic dishes and Americanized favorites, so everyone at your table will find something they love. The breakfast menu alone could keep you coming back, but don't sleep on their burritos and enchiladas.

The horchata here gets rave reviews (seriously, people drive from other towns just for it). The kitchen doesn't skimp on portions, and the prices won't hurt your wallet. Staff treats families especially well, greeting kids with smiles and waves that make the whole experience feel welcoming.

You can eat inside at one of the few tables or grab a spot on the large semi-covered patio. The atmosphere is laid-back and homely, with that authentic neighborhood Mexican restaurant vibe. They've got a solid selection of hot sauces if you like heat, including a habanero option that regulars swear by.

Located in St. George, El Jinete makes a great meal stop whether you're exploring southern Utah's red rock country or heading to Zion National Park an hour northeast. The combination of authentic flavors, fair prices, and genuinely friendly service explains why locals have been loyal customers for years.

I ordered the wet carnitas burrito. Overall, it was good and filling. My only real complaint is that I wish there were more sauce options to smother the burrito with—it would be nice to have a few different choices. The carnitas were okay, but they didn't have that rich, traditional flavor you'd expect from carnitas cooked in lard. The meat was tender, but it was missing that authentic taste and crispness that makes great carnitas stand out. The rice, beans, and toppings were good, and the portion size was generous. With a few more sauce choices and more traditional carnitas, this would easily be a 5-star meal.

For small Taco shop the got great food. We had the rolled tacos beef and my kid got their chicken wings.. man, the food was hot to temp and very tasty. I didn't think I'd say you could get some of the best chicken wings from a Mexican restaurant, but man they were pretty good and crispy too.. friendly staff too.. they also have a couple selections at the salsa bar.. not too busy and quick service!

Great food, quick and good service, only complaint is I asked for no cheese but the food still had it. Other than that great spot! Defiantly coming back again
