Classic diner serving hand-cut burgers, bison specialties, and homemade pies with eccentric charm and local beer.
Bob's place is part restaurant, part antique shop, part entertainment. The Cactus Room operates on diner time (food takes a while) with diner personality (the owner has opinions about ketchup). But that ribeye steak sandwich and those hand-cut fries are worth the wait.
The bison burger is the signature move here, though the beef burgers and veggie options get plenty of love too. Bob takes his craft seriously. Don't even think about reaching for the ketchup bottle until you've tried his burgers as intended. The homemade coleslaw and key lime pie round out a menu that's clearly made from scratch.
You'll find outdoor seating when the weather's nice, plus local beer to pair with your meal. The atmosphere is pure small-town Utah diner, complete with antiques scattered around and Bob providing running commentary. Groups can make reservations, which is smart given the deliberate pace.
Virgin sits right between Zion's main entrance and the smaller town of Hurricane. It's the kind of place where you stop for lunch after a morning hike and end up staying longer than planned, partly because the food's good and partly because Bob's got stories to tell. Cash or card both work, and takeout's available if you're in a genuine hurry.

Very eclectic stop! Food was great- owner was hilarious. If you are looking for something different- this is it!

Ordered a buffalo burger and wagyu burger for my wife and I to judge the best. This is a different kind of restaurant. Took a little while for the food but the server and his boss Bob, kept everyone entertained. Burgers were good, desserts were varied and to die for. Visit here with a good attitude and allow yourself to enjoy. We didn’t buy any but many folks came in to buy varied types of jerky, so it must be good.

The atmosphere and food were nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant felt like you were in an I-Spy book with the art and antiques scattered throughout the space. The owner took time to talk to us about our trip and the park after he cooked our meals which were fantastic. Do not skip on the pie!

I rarely ever write reviews but this needed one. I always try to go to ma and pa places to support the locals. This was not good. My boyfriend and I both ordered the beef burgers. The place was so warm, the ice melted quickly in our drinks. There were only 2 other tables of guests when we got there. So not busy. The host was nice enough. He had to clean a table for us. There were dirty tables and they weren’t busy!?! Anyway, he explained the menu which is all hand written in the front. I got my burger after waiting 45 minutes. Fine okay. Then we waited 20 more minutes and the BFs never arrived. We felt super ignored. Only 3 other tables were sat while we were at our table. I ate 1/3 of my burger. One side was very pink. The window sills was dirty and my plate had greasy finger prints on it when he handed it out. It was a terrible experience. I hope I do t get sick tonight. We ended up driving into town to get McDonalds because that was one of the only places left open at 10:40pm!
